XB163 - Check HFP Relay Operation

- Key "OFF".

- High Speed Fuel Pump (HFP) relay disconnected.

High Fuel Pump Relay:

- Connect another jumper wire to the HFP circuit of the HFP relay (Pin 86).

- While connecting and disconnecting the other end of the HFP circuit jumper to the battery negative post, listen to the HFP relay.

- Does the HFP relay "click" when the jumper is connected and disconnected from the battery negative post?

Yes -- Remove jumper wires. Reconnect HFP relay. The High Speed Fuel Pump control is working properly. Return to Diagnostic Routines. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

No -- Remove jumper wires. Replace HFP relay. Reconnect all components. Re-evaluate symptom.
