XB35 - Check Power to Cooling Fan Circuit For Short to Power

- Key "OFF".

- Disconnect cooling fan.

- Disconnect Variable Control Relay Module (VCRM). Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

- Key "ON", engine "OFF".

- Measure voltage between the power-to-cooling fan circuit at the cooling fan vehicle harness connector and the battery negative post.

- Is voltage less than 1.0 volt?

Yes -- Replace VCRM. Reconnect all components. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)

No -- Service short to power in the power-to-cooling fan circuit. Reconnect all components. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
