Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Using NGS

Diagnostics for this system require use of the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Tester 007-00500 or equivalent. The module controlling the system being diagnosed communication with the Data Link Connector located beneath the instrument panel.

Connect the OBD II style communication cable to the NGS. Attach the NGS and communication cable to the DLC beneath the instrument panel. Select the proper vehicle model and year from the NGS menu. You may then access the testing area of the NGS menu required to diagnose this vehicle system. Refer to the following Symptom Chart for module selection. Begin diagnosis as outlined in Information Bus.

If any diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts with the letter "U", refer to Information Bus, and perform Multiplex Communication Network Data Link Diagnostics Test.
