Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

USING THE NGS TESTER

Diagnostics for this system require use of the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Tester 007-00500 or equivalent. The module controlling the system being diagnosed communicates with the Data Link Connector located beneath the instrument panel.
Connect the OBD II style communication cable to the New Generation Star (NGS) Tester. Attach the New Generation Star (NGS) Tester and communication cable to the DLC beneath the instrument panel. Select the proper vehicle model and year from the New Generation Star (NGS) Tester menu. You may then access the testing area of the New Generation Star (NGS) Tester menu required to diagnose the vehicle system. Refer to the following Symptom Chart for module selection.

NOTE: Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) that starts with the letter "U" refer to the Multiplex Communication Network Data Link.
