Fluid - A/T: Testing and Inspection
FLUID LEVEL CHECK
NOTE: Fluid level should be checked at normal operating temperature, with the vehicle on a level surface.
1. Start engine and move gearshift selector through all ranges, allowing sufficient time for each position to engage.
2. Place, gear selector in PARK position and set parking brake.
3. With engine running, check fluid mark on transaxle dipstick. Fluid should be within crosshatched area of the level indicator.
4. If fluid level is low, add MERCON ATF or equivalent automatic transmission fluid. MERCON(R) automatic Transmission Fluid is being replaced by MERCON(R) V as a service fluid, as per TSB 06-14-4.
5. If fluid level is too high, disconnect transaxle fluid cooler IN line at cooler and drain.
