Variable Induction Control Actuator: Description and Operation

OPERATION
The actuator drives the housing assembly valve plates open when it receives a signal from the PCM. When the PCM requests closure of the valve plates, it removes the command signal to the actuator assembly and the return spring forces the plates closed.

CONSTRUCTION
The actuator assembly is an electromechanical device that incorporates one bowden cable for each housing assembly:

- The cable conduit is attached to the IMRC housing bracket,

- The core wire is attached to the shaft.
