Certain 1995/1996 Lincoln Continentals Lighting Control Module Replacement

Memory Profile System (MPS) Reset:
For memory switch locations and details on how to access Driver 1 and Driver 2 modes on the Memory Profile System, refer to the Owner Guide as follows:

^ For 1995 vehicles, refer to 1995 Owner Guide pages 149, 151 and 153.

^ For 1996 vehicles, refer to 1996 Owner Guide pages 119, 121 and 122.

1. Push # 1 on the memory switch on the inside of the driver's door.

2. Turn Autolamp off by holding switch down until message center reads "Autolamp Off". Message center will then display "Saved to driver 1".

3. Push # 2 on the memory switch on the inside of the driver's door.

4. Turn Autolamp off by holding switch down until message center reads "Autolamp Off". Message center will then display "Saved to driver 2".

Lighting Control Module Replacement:

1. Open hood and driver's door. Install fender and seat covers.

2. Connect Rotunda Memory Saver R104-00001, or equivalent.

3. Disconnect battery negative cable.

4. Remove retaining screws for steering column lower cover, then pull lower cover away from instrument panel. Disconnect traction control switch electrical connector and remove cover.

5. Remove instrument panel garnish trim from above lighting control module.

6. Remove retaining screws for lighting control module and pull module from the instrument panel.

7. Disconnect module electrical connectors and remove module from the vehicle.

8. Position replacement lighting control module and connect electrical connectors.

9. Slide module into position making sure to engage the guide rails on the bottom of the module with the corresponding bracket in the instrument panel.

10. Install the module retaining screws.

11. Install the instrument panel garnish trim above the lighting control module.

12. Connect the traction control switch electrical connector, then position the steering column lower cover. Install the cover retaining screws.

13. Connect battery negative cable.

14. Disconnect and remove Rotunda Memory Saver.

15. Check lighting control module operation.

16. Remove fender and seat covers. Close hood and door.

17. Return removed lighting control module per instructions in Attachment II, "Mandatory Parts Return".
