Line Pressure Test

LINE PRESSURE CHECK

NOTE: Perform the line pressure test before the stall speed test. If line pressure is low at stall, do not perform stall speed test.

CAUTION: Do not maintain wide open throttle in any gear range for more than 5 seconds.

Pressure Tap Location:

1. Connect 0-300 psi pressure gauge to line pressure tap.
2. Start engine and check line pressures.

Line Pressure Specifications:

3. Refer to the Line Pressure Specifications chart for line pressure specifications.
4. If line pressures are not within specifications, refer to the Electronic Pressure Control Solenoid test. Perform air pressure test and service main control or pump assembly as required.
5. If line pressure is not within specification after mechanical checks and there are no DTCs, the Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) solenoid may be mechanically malfunctioning.
6. Connect pressure gauge to EPC pressure tap.

Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) Diagnosis:

7. Start engine and check EPC pressure. If EPC pressure is incorrect, refer to the Electronic Pressure Control (EPC) Diagnosis chart for diagnosis.
