Stall Speed Test
STALL SPEED TESTNOTE: Always perform line pressure test before stall speed test.
CAUTION: If line pressure is low at stall, do not perform stall speed test or further transaxle damage will occur. Apply the parking brake firmly while performing each stall test to prevent vehicle damage or personal injury. Prolonged usage of this procedure may cause diagnostic trouble codes to be set. After performing stall speed test, clear all DTCs from memory.
1. Ensure engine and transaxle are at normal operating temperature.
2. Connect tachometer to engine.
3. Depress accelerator pedal to floor Wide Open Throttle (WOT) in each range and record RPM reached.
CAUTION: Do not maintain WOT in any range for more than 5 seconds or damage to the torque converter may occur.
4. After testing each transaxle range, move gearshift lever to neutral and run engine for about 15 seconds to allow torque converter to cool before testing next range.
