On-Board Diagnostics
The anti-lock control module is capable of performing an on-board diagnostic using Rotunda Super STAR II Tester 007-0041B or equivalent.
If the Super STAR II Tester is not available, the Anti-Lock Quick Check Sheet should be used. Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters
The anti-lock control module monitors system operation and can store all defined Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) in its memory. It is important to understand that the anti-lock brake control module cannot recognize some failures. If a symptom exists and no DTCs are stored by the anti-lock brake control module, other diagnostic steps must be followed.
The anti-lock brake control module cannot store a DTC if there is no power to the anti-lock brake control module. This malfunction can be found by using the Quick Check Sheet. Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters
DTCs 18, 19 and 20 (sensor codes) will override any other stored DTC and will not allow other DTCs to be output if the failure exists while the on-board diagnostic is being run. If the failure is intermittent or if the DTC was left in the anti-lock brake control module due to improper erasing procedures, the DTC will be output during on-board diagnostic but the next DTC will also be output.
