Output State Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) Description

PURPOSE
The output state diagnostic test mode aids in servicing the output actuators associated with the Electronic Engine Control (EEC) system. It enables the technician to ENERGIZE and DE-ENERGIZE most of the system output actuators on command.

HOW TO INITIATE
This mode is entered after all codes have been outputted during the Key On Engine Off (KOEO) self-test. At this time, leave the self-test activated and depress throttle. Refer to Output State Diagnostic Test Mode. Output State Diagnostic Test Mode

OPERATION
Each time the throttle is depressed, the EEC controlled actuators and solenoids will simultaneously change state (ON/OFF). This allows the technician to test the actuators mechanically and electrically. This procedure generally is used only when called for in one of the pinpoint tests to determine if an actuator is operating properly.
