Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair

Air Intake System:

REMOVAL and INSTALLATION

1. Loosen engine air cleaner tube clamp on air cleaner outlet tube. Disconnect air cleaner outlet tube from engine air cleaner.

2. Remove four air cleaner cover retaining bolts.

3. Disconnect Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor engine control sensor extension wiring from headlamp dash panel junction wire. Remove air cleaner cover and air cleaner element.

4. Remove air cleaner body retaining nuts and air cleaner body.

5. To install, reverse removal procedures. Tighten air cleaner body retaining nuts to 5.2-7.2 Nm (46-64 lb in). Tighten air cleaner cover bolts to 2.5-3.5 Nm (22-31 lb in). Tighten engine air cleaner tube clamp to 3.4-4.8 Nm (30-42 lb in).
