PINPOINT TEST Q: TEMPERATURE SET POINT DOES NOT REPEAT AFTER TURNING IGNITION SWITCH OFF

Q1 CHECK MEMORY SUPPLY TO EATC MODULE

- With ignition switch in the OFF position, partially remove EATC control module as outlined.
- Using a voltmeter, check Circuit 797 (LG/P) on Town Car or Circuit 54 (LG/Y) on Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis for voltage at EATC module Pin 12.

- Is battery voltage present?

- Yes
Replace EATC module. Restore vehicle. Retest system.

- No
Go to Q2.

Q2 CHECK CIRCUIT 797 (LG/P) SUPPLY

- Remove memory fuse (5A) at power distribution box.
- Using an ohmmeter, check Circuit 797 (LG/P) on Town Car or Circuit 54 (LG/Y) on Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis from EATC module connector Pin 12 to output side of memory fuse (5A) cavity for continuity.

- Is resistance 5 ohms or less?

- Yes
Replace EATC module. Restore vehicle. Retest system.

- No
Service Circuit 797 (LG/P) on Town Car or Circuit 54 (LG/Y) for Crown Victoria for open. Restore vehicle. Retest system.
