DTC B1533: Memory 1 Short To Battery

B1533-1 Make Sure Switch Is Not Active

- Turn ignition switch to RUN.
- Turn ignition switch OFF. These two steps "wake up" the driver seat module.
- Open driver side door. This disables delay accessory function.

NOTE: Seat will move a short distance in each dimction during self4est.

- Execute self-test.
- Make sure memory switch is not pressed.
- Clear DTC.
- Rerun self-test diagnostic.

Is DTC B1533 still present?

YES GO to B1533-3.
NO GO to B1533-2.

B1533-2 - Make Sure That Switch Is Not Sticking

- Set New Generation Star Tester to read MEM1_SW PID.
- Make sure ignition remains OFF.
- Press and release the memory 1 button several times

Does PID show that button releases within one second from when the switch is released? Yes

YES System operating normally. Continuous DTC would be set if the memory 1 switch was held for more than two minutes.
NO REPLACE memory switch. RETEST system.

B1533-3 - Test Circuit 267 (BR/LG)

- Disconnect connector C2 from driver seat module.
- Carefully probe pin C2-16 to driver seat module for voltage

Is voltage reading B+?

YES GO to B1533-4.
NO REPLACE driver seat module. RETEST system.

B1533-4 - Test Switch For Voltage

- Disconnect memory switch.
- Carefully probe pin C2-16 to driver seat module for voltage.

Is voltage reading B+?

YES SERVICE Circuit 267 (BR/LG) for short to B+. RETESTsystem.
NO REPLACE memory switch. RETEST system.
