Pinpoint Test E - Power Seat Completely Inoperative

NOTE: Ford DOES NOT provide a procedure to perform the following pinpoint test without the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) tester 007-00500 or equivalent.

E1 - Test For Power

- Test for voltage on pin C2-20 of driver seat module.

Is voltage reading B+?

YES GO to E2.
NO SERVICE circuit 1050 (LG/P) RETEST system.

E2 - Test For Ground

- Check continuity from pin C2-11 of driver seat module to ground.

Is there continuity?

YES GO to E3.
NO SERVICE circuit 676 (BK/LG). RETEST system.

E3 - Test Switch Status

- Connect Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Tester 007-00500 or equivalent to data link connector.
- Enter Diagnostic Data Link.
- Enter DSM.
- Select the following switch PIDs:
- SRCL_SW - Recline.
- SFWD_SW - Horizontal Movement.
- SREARSW - Rear Tilt Motor.
- SFNT_SW - Front Tilt Motor.
- Press START button.

Does data indicate any switch active?

YES SERVICE circuit for stuck switch or short to B+. RETEST system.
NO GO to E4.

E4 - Test Switch Output

- Repeat steps in E3.
- Press each driver seat switch.

Does data indicate switches active while switch is pressed?

YES REPLACE driver seat module.
NO SERVICE circuit to seat switches. RETEST system.
