Timing Cover: Service and Repair
1. Remove engine cooling fan and shroud.2. Loosen water pump pulley attaching bolts, then remove serpentine drive belt.
3. Remove water pump pulley attaching bolts, then remove pulley.
4. Raise and support vehicle.
5. Remove power steering pump attaching bolts.
NOTE: Front lower power steering pump bolt will not come out.
6. Support power steering pump and position aside.
7. Remove oil pan to front cover attaching bolts.
8. Remove crankshaft damper attaching bolt and washer.
9. Using crankshaft damper remover T58P-6316-D or equivalent, remove crankshaft damper.
10. Lower vehicle.
11. Remove A/C high pressure line to righthand coil bracket attaching bolt.
12. Remove camshaft covers front attaching bolts, then loosen remaining cover bolts.
13. Using plastic wedges or suitable tool, prop up camshaft covers.
14. Disconnect ignition coils and Crankshaft Identification (CID) sensor.
15. Remove righthand coil bracket attaching nuts, then position power steering hose aside.
16. Remove lefthand coil bracket attaching nuts, then pull bracket and ignition wires from mounting studs and position aside.

17. Remove front cover attaching bolts and stub bolts, then remove front cover.
18. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque coil bracket attaching nuts, oil pan attaching bolts, power steering pump attaching bolts and water pump pulley attaching bolts to 15-22 ft lb.
b. Torque camshaft cover attaching bolts to 6-8.8 ft lb.
c. Apply silicone gasket and sealant E3AZ-19562-A or equivalent in damper keyway. Ensure crankshaft key and keyway are aligned. Using Crankshaft Damper Replacer T47P-6316-B or equivalent, install crankshaft damper.
d. Torque crankshaft damper attaching bolt and washer to 114-121 ft lb.
