CAUTION: Main bearing bolts must be replaced with new bolts. They are torque-to-yield design and cannot be reused.
1. Tighten new main bearing cap bolts in two steps as follows: Tighten bolts in sequence to 30-35 N.m (22-25 lb-ft). Rotate bolts in sequence 85-95 degrees.
2. Tighten crankshaft main bearing cap adjusting screws in two steps as follows: Tighten crankshaft main bearing cap adjusting screws in sequence to 5 N.m (44 lb-in). Tighten crankshaft main bearing cap adjusting screws in sequence to 9-11 N.m (8-97 lb-in).
3. Tighten main bearing cap bolts in two steps as follows: Tighten main bearing cap bolts in sequence to 10 N.m (7 lb-ft).Tighten main bearing cap bolts in sequence to 19-23 N.m (14-17 lb-ft).
