Master Switch
Master Switch - Town CarMaster Switch Pin Identification:
Testing the master window regulator control switch (14529) should be performed with the window regulator control switch removed from the vehicle. Use a self-powered test lamp or an ohmmeter such as Rotunda Digital Volt-Ohmmeter 014-00407 or equivalent.
1. Clip one test lead probe on pin 3, which is grounded.
2. With all window regulator control switches in the NEUTRAL position, pins 7 through 8 should have continuity to pin 3.
3. Push all four window regulator control switches forward and hold in that position (toward front of vehicle when in installed position). Pins 5, 9,11 and 7 should lose continuity to pin 3.
4. Push all four window regulator control switches rearward and hold in that position (toward rear of vehicle when in installed position). Pins 4, 8,10 and 6 should lose continuity to pin 3.
5. Remove the test lead from pin 3 and connect it to pin 2 (hot feed pin). With all window regulator control switches in the NEUTRAL position, only pin 1 should have continuity to pin 2.
6. Push all four window regulator control switches forward and hold in that position. Pins 5, 9,11 and 7 should have continuity to pin 2.
7. Pull all four window regulator control switches rearward and hold in that position. Pins 4, 8, 10 and 6 should have continuity to pin 2.
8. Push the lock-out switch to its detent position. Pin 2 should not have continuity with any other pin.
9. If any window regulator control switch does not test as stated, replace the complete window regulator control switch.
