Radio Removing Tool T87P-19061-A
DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove instrument panel.
2. Remove glove compartment.
3. Disconnect passenger air bag connector.
4. Remove three bolts retaining lower passenger air bag mounting bracket to instrument panel steel bracket through the glove compartment opening.
5. Remove passenger side air bag module by pushing on passenger side air bag module from inside panel. Do not handle passenger side air bag module by grabbing edges of deployment doors.
WARNING: PLACE AIR BAG MODULE ON BENCH WITH TRIM COVER FACING UP TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.
6. Remove two upper and two lower screws retaining instrument panel finish panel to instrument panel.
7. Carefully pull instrument panel finish panel to unsnap the push connectors at each end.
8. From rear, disconnect electrical connectors and remove instrument panel finish panel.
9. Pull LH side of instrument cluster forward and disconnect two electrical connectors to instrument panel.
10. On six passenger console shift models, disconnect transmission range indicator assembly.
11. Remove instrument cluster.
12. Install Radio Removing Tool T87P-19061-A into radio face plate. Push tools in approximately 38 mm (1.5 inch) to release retaining clips.
CAUTION: Do not use excessive force when installing Radio Removing Tool. This will damage retaining clips, making radio chassis removal difficult.
13. Apply a slight spreading force on tools and pull the front control unit from instrument panel.
14. Disconnect wiring connectors and remove the front control unit from the vehicle.
15. Remove three screws retaining side of instrument panel finish panel to instrument panel.
16. Pull instrument panel finish panel to release two clips to right of EATC control assembly, disconnect rear window defroster switch wire connector, and remove instrument panel finish panel from vehicle.
17. Remove four screws retaining EATC module and pull the module out of the instrument panel.
18. Remove two harness connectors from EATC module assembly.
19. Remove EATC module from instrument panel with vacuum harness attached.
20. Remove three retaining screws from lighting control module.
21. Carefully pull lighting control module from instrument panel and disconnect three wiring connectors.
22. Disengage snap tabs and remove A/C registers.
23. Loosen two screws retaining heater air plenum chamber to instrument panel.
24. Remove three screws retaining upper end of windshield defroster hose nozzle to instrument panel.
25. Remove windshield defroster hose nozzle.
26. Disconnect RH and LH A/C side window demister and hose from A/C plenum demister adapter on heater air plenum chamber.
27. Remove two screws from each A/C side window demister and hose at the upper corners of the instrument panel and slide the A/C side window demister and hose assemblies out of the instrument panel.
28. Disconnect vacuum hose at vacuum control motor located just above windshield defroster door on LH side of heater air plenum chamber.
29. Remove two screws retaining heater air plenum chamber to instrument panel.
30. Remove heater air plenum chamber from instrument panel.
31. Disengage wire harness from all locators, straps and clips as necessary, including ground wire eyelets. Remove harness from instrument panel.
32. Remove retaining screws and separate A/C evaporator register duct from instrument panel.
33. Remove retaining screws and instrument panel reinforcements as required.
ASSEMBLY
1. Install instrument panel reinforcements, as required, and A/C evaporator register duct to instrument panel.
2. Install instrument panel wiring harness and screws to instrument panel with all locators, straps and clips including ground wire eyelets.
3. Install heater air plenum chamber LH and RH A/C side window demister and hose, windshield defroster hose nozzle, A/C registers and lighting control module by reversing Disassembly procedures.
4. Connect two electrical harness connectors to EATC control assembly.
5. Position EATC module into instrument panel and secure with four screws.
6. Connect rear window defroster switch wire connector and install instrument panel finish panel with three retaining screws to instrument panel.
7. Connect front control unit wiring connectors and install front control unit into instrument panel.
8. Install instrument cluster by reversing Disassembly procedure.
9. Install cluster instrument panel finish panel by reversing Disassembly procedure.
10. Insert instrument panel finish panel into space in instrument panel.
11. From the glove compartment opening, install three bolts retaining the lower passenger air bag mounting bracket to the instrument panel steel bracket. Tighten to 7.5-10.5 Nm (67-92 lb-in).
WARNING: ALL THREE RETAINING BOLTS MUST BE INSTALLED WHEN REPLACING PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG MODULE.
NOTE: Install the two forward bolts first and then the center bolt to make sure air bag module fits properly.
12. Connect passenger air bag connector.
13. Install glove compartment to instrument panel.
14. Install instrument panel to vehicle.
