Seat Back
Seat trim replacement requires removal and installation of seat components such as seat tracks, seat assemblies and head restraints.
REMOVAL
1. Remove seat assembly from vehicle.
2. Remove seat back side shield and pivot cover. Remove bolts retaining seat back to front seat cushion frame and spring. Place seat back assembly on a protective surface.
3. Remove front seat back head restraint assembly.
4. Disengage J-retainers from trim cover at bottom of seat back.
5. Cut hog rings. Remove trim cover. Remove retaining wires from their listings.
INSTALLATION
1. With the exception of the top portion, approximately 200 mm (8 inches), turn replacement trim cover inside out.
2. Position trim cover to front seat back. Work trim cover down until horizontal tiedown listing is aligned with its retaining wire in pad assembly. Install tiedown wire in the listing. Secure tiedown wire to front seat back with 3 to 4 hog rings.
3. Secure lower portion of front seat back cover at tiedown grooves by exerting vertical hand pressure across the tiedown to engage hook and loop.
4. Engage J-retainers to close trim front seat back cover.
5. Install front seat back head restraint.
6. Install seat back assembly to front seat cushion frame and spring. Tighten retaining bolts to 47-63 Nm (35-46 lb-ft).
7. Install seat assembly.
8. Operate power seat to check for proper operation.
