Headlamp System

The headlamp system consists of:
- Two aerodynamic headlamps with replaceable halogen headlamp bulb and retainers
- Three-position headlamp switch (part of lighting control module)
- Headlamp dimmer switch (part of multifunction switch)
- Lighting control module
- Circuit wiring and circuit protection Power is supplied to the headlamps system through lighting control module, headlamp wiring and high beam relay.

Circuit protection is provided by fuse junction panel Fuses:
- 3 (10A)
- 4 (10A)
- 5 (10A)
- 19 (10A)
- 20 (10A)
- 25 (10A)

and power distribution box Fuses:
- 12 (40A)
- 16 (20A)

Ground is provided through Circuit 57 (BK).
- With the headlamp dimmer switch in the LO position (middle position), power is supplied by the lighting control module to the low beam elements.
- With the headlamp dimmer switch in the HI position (forward detent), power is supplied by the lighting control module through the high beam relay to the high beam elements and to the high beam indicator in the instrument cluster.
- When the headlamp dimmer switch is pulled toward the steering wheel, the flash-to-pass switch in the multi-function switch is closed. and power is supplied to the headlamps, from the lighting control module (through the high-beam relay). When the headlamp dimmer switch is released, the headlamps return to LO beam.
- The battery saver feature of the lighting control module will automatically turn Off exterior and interior lamps under the following conditions:
- Ignition switch OFF
- Driver seat not occupied
- Headlamp switch in PARK or HEAD
- A predetermined time period has lapsed
