Communication System Diagnostics

Before performing pinpoint tests:

- Review the equipment level of the vehicle

- Make note of module(s) and systems(s) vehicle is NOT equipped with.

- Make sure DTC being diagnosed is referencing module(s) or system(s) with which the vehicle is equipped.

- The New Generation Star Tester may produce a NO RESPONSE/NOT EQUIPPED network DTC for no communication if the vehicle is not equipped with the suspect module(s) or systems(s)

- If a DTC is retrieved for a not equipped module(s) or systems(s), disregard the DTC

- If a NO RESPONSE/NOT EQUIPPED DTC is the only DTC retrieved, the communication system self-test should be considered as passed
