Ford Motor Company is providing a no-charge Service Program, Number 97B09, to owners of certain 1997 Lincoln Continentals.

Reason For This Program
The affected Lincoln Continental vehicles were built with vehicle dynamics modules which may be affected by normal ignition switch electrical noise during vehicle engine start-up. This module controls the steering and suspension/ride characteristics of your car.

If this should happen to your car's module, you may notice increased steering effort. There will be no loss of steering control. Additionally, the suspension will revert to the firm ride setting while the vehicle height will remain at the last setting.

No Charge Service
At no charge to you, your dealer will inspect and, if necessary, replace the vehicle dynamics module.

Your car is eligible for this program through July 31, 1998, regardless of mileage. After July 31, 1998, your car may still be eligible for this service under the applicable warranty coverage.

How Long Will It Take?
The time needed for this service is about one hour. However, due to service scheduling times, your dealer may need your car for one full working day. Please call your dealer for a service appointment.

Call Your Dealer
Ask for a service date and if parts are in stock for Program Number 97B09.

If your dealer does not have the parts in stock, they can be ordered before scheduling your service date. Parts would be expected to arrive within a week.

When you bring your car in, show the dealer this letter.

If you misplace this letter, your dealer will still do the work, free of charge.

Refunds
If you paid to have this service done before the date of this letter, Ford is offering a full refund. For the refund, please give your paid original receipt to your Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealer. To avoid delays, do not send receipts to Ford Motor Company.

Changed Address Or Sold The Car?
Please fill out the enclosed prepaid postcard and mail it to us if you have changed your address or sold the car.
