Affected Vehicles
1997 Lincoln Continentals built from start of 1997 production through February 4, 1997.

Reason For This Program
The affected vehicles were built with Vehicle Dynamics Module (VDM) software, that may be affected by normal electrical "noise from the ignition switch during vehicle start-up. This could result in increased steering efforts. There will be no loss of steering control. Additionally, the suspension will revert to the firm ride setting while the vehicle height will remain at the last setting.

Service offered by this program is available through July 31, 1998. After July 31, 1998, vehicles may be eligible for service under applicable warranty coverage.

Service Action
At no charge to the customer, inspect and, if necessary, replace the Vehicle Dynamics Module on the affected vehicles.

Refunds
Only for owner-paid repairs made before the date of the Owner Letter (or after the date of the Owner Letter it an emergency repair was made away from the servicing dealer).
