Steering Gear: Testing and Inspection
Inspection of the power rack and pinion
steering gear is limited to checking for leaks at the fittings including the banjo bolt lugs which retain the
power steering auxiliary actuator to the power rack and pinion steering gear. If the leak cannot be stopped by tightening correctly or replacing Teflon seals at various tube connectors, the power rack and pinion steering gear assembly or hose assembly must be replaced. No internal inspection or repair is authorized.
