Personality Feature/Control

RIDE CONTROL PERSONALITY FEATURE
Three ride settings are available. They are firm, normal and plush. The ride setting menu is selected through the message center by pressing the RIDE^STEER button on the instrument panel to enter the programming mode. Pressing the SELECT button will cycle the ride selections. The suspension will adjust to the selection displayed when the RIDE^STEER button is pressed to exit the programming mode.

STEERING ASSISTANCE
The steering assistance is selected from the same menu in the same manner. The vehicle dynamics module automatically prevents the selection of both low steering effort and the firm ride setting.

HANDLING FEATURE (AUTOMATIC)
The vehicle dynamics module will adjust the suspension from plush to normal when the vehicle speed exceeds 137 km/h (85 miles per hour) and to firm when the vehicle speed exceeds 152 km/h (95 miles per hour). The ride control will adjust from firm to normal at 145 km/in (90 mph) and to plush at 129 km/h (80 mph). None of the ride selection changes actuated by the handling feature will appear on the Message Center. These changes are all internal to the vehicle dynamics module and will not be apparent to the driver. The suspension settings will automatically stiffen through the three levels when the vehicle experiences high roll and pitch maneuvers.

UNDER ACCELERATION
The suspension will also change to a firmer setting as the vehicle accelerates. The setting characteristics are:
Firm: 0-8 km/h (0-5 mph) shock absorbers hard; above 8 km/h (5 mph) shock absorbers active.
Normal: 0-1.6 km/in (0-1 mph) shock absorbers hard; above 1.6 km/in (1 mph) shock absorbers active.
Plush: above 0 km/h (0 mph) shock absorbers active (always active).
