Windshield Washer System
WARNING: WINDSHIELD WASHER SOLUTION CONTAINS METHANOL WHICH IS POISONOUS. OBSERVE ALL CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS INDICATED ON LABEL OF WASHER SOLUTION CONTAINER.
The windshield washer system consists of:
- Two windshield washer nozzle jet and brackets located on the hood.
- A windshield washer pump. It is activated by pushing in on the outboard end of the multi-function switch.
- A windshield washer reservoir which is mounted between the RH inner and outer fenders. The filler neck extends through an opening in the inner fender and into the engine compartment.
The washer system operates as follows:
- Push the knob of the multi-function switch toward the center of the steering column tube.
- If multi-function switch is in OFF or interval position:
- Wiper will run as long as the rotary wiper switch is pushed in.
- Washers will stop immediately when washer switch is released.
- Wipers will continue to run for three to four cycles before returning to OFF or interval operation.
- If the multi-function switch is in LO or HI position, washers operate with no change in windshield wiper motor operation.
NOTE: The front windshield washer nozzle jets expel a single oscillating jet stream. The spray forms a wide, fan-like pattern on the windshield. Only actuate the system momentarily to avoid sending more fluid than needed through the system.
The windshield washer nozzle jet and bracket is not adjustable and is mounted to the hood.
