Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the electronic audio system to duplicate the condition.2. Inspect to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:
VISUAL INSPECTION CHART
Mechanical
- Radio chassis physically damaged, misaligned, controls inoperative.
- Digital audio compact disc player physically damaged, misaligned, controls inoperative.
- Antenna, two-piece antenna cable or on-glass FM antenna and on-glass AM antenna (defroster grid on rear window) physically damaged, misaligned connections.
- Radio speakers mounting/speaker cones physically damaged, misaligned.
- Radio ignition interference capacitor, radio frequency interference suppression bond and radio receiver hood bonding strap misaligned, damaged or poor metal-to-metal contact.
- Mobile telephone handset, mobile telephone microphone, mobile telephone transceiver holder cradle physically damaged, misaligned.
Electrical
- Damaged Fuse.
+ Fuse Junction Panel Fuse 2 (10 A), Fuse 4 (10 A).
+ Power Distribution Box Fuse 10 (20 A).
- Disconnected electrical connectors.
- Circuitry open/shorted.
- Damaged ignition switch.
3. If the inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, service as required.
4. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the condition(s) and go to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
