Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the muffler.
2. Disconnect the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) at wiring connector.





3. Remove the dual converter Y-pipe to RH exhaust manifold retaining nuts.





4. Remove the dual converter Y-pipe to LH manifold and the converter assembly retaining nuts.





5. Remove the retaining nuts from the exhaust outlet pipe frame bracket.

6. Remove the dual converter Y-pipe from the vehicle.
7. Inspect the dual converter Y-pipe for cracks, broken welds and corrosion.
8. Replace the clamps.


INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
