Wheel/Tire Replacement
REMOVAL
1. Loosen the lug nut.
a. Remove the wheel cover (1), if applicable.
b. Loosen, but do not remove the lug nuts (2).
2. Raise the vehicle until the tire clears the floor.
CAUTION:
^ Never use the differential housing as a lift point.
^ Do not use heat to loosen a frozen wheel because heat can shorten the life of the wheel and damage the wheel bearings. If the wheel cannot be removed by hand, use a wheel puller to remove the frozen wheel.
3. Remove the wheel and tire from the vehicle.
^ Remove the lug nuts.
^ Remove the wheel and tire.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the wheel and tire on the vehicle.
CAUTION: Failure to tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern may result in high rotor runout, which will speed up the development of brake roughness, shudder and vibration.
2. Tighten the lug nuts to specification in a star-pattern sequence using Rotunda Accutorq Lug Nut Sockets on a 1/2 inch drive air impact wrench or use a torque wrench.
3. Install the wheel cover, if applicable.
