Installation





1. Install the wheel bearing into rear wheel knuckle.
1 Place the rear wheel knuckle on the press bed.
2 Position the bearing into the bore.
3 Place the bearing replacer on top of the bearing.
4 Press the bearing into the rear wheel knuckle until the bearing clears the retaining ring groove and bottoms out in the bore.





2. Install the retaining ring.








3. Install the rear hub into the rear wheel knuckle.
1 Place the hub support on the press bed.
2 Position the rear wheel knuckle on the hub support.
3 Place the rear hub into the wheel bearing.
4 Place the Front Hub Bearing Remover/Replacer onto the rear hub.
5 Press the hub into the bearing.

CAUTION: The wheel bearing must be supported while installing hub or damage will result.





4. Place the knuckle and rear hub assembly onto the halfshaft and engage the splines.








5. Attach the rear wheel knuckle to the lower rear suspension arm and bushing.
1 Push the halfshaft inward to gain clearance to install the front bolt.
2 Place the washers between arm and the knuckle.
3 Install the front and rear bolts.
4 Hand-tighten the retaining nuts.
5 Align the index marks.
6 Holding the bolts stationary, tighten the nuts to specification.

CAUTION: The lower control arm bolts must be installed with the Torx heads facing the rear of the vehicle.






6. Install and hand-tighten the rear axle wheel hub retainer.





7. Install the upper rear suspension arm, bushing, nut and bolt. Tighten to specification.





8. Tighten the rear axle wheel hub retainer to specification.

CAUTION: Power tools must not be used to tighten the rear axle wheel hub retainer or rear wheel bearing damage will result. Since the rear wheel bearing cannot be adjusted, the rear axle wheel hub retainer must not be backed off after reaching the required torque during installation.

9. Install the rear disc brake rotor, rear disc support bracket and the rear disc brake caliper.
10. Install the wheel and tire assembly.
11. Lower the vehicle. Turn the air suspension switch ON.
