Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the strategy.

3. Raise vehicle on a hoist.
CAUTION: The air suspension switch must be turned to the OFF position when the vehicle is hoisted, jacked, towed, jump started, or raised off the ground, to avoid any unnecessary operation of the system and/or possible damage to its components.
4. Remove A/C compressor.
1 Remove three A/C compressor bolts.
2 Move the A/C compressor to the side.
5. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring.
6. Remove Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor.
