Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Rapid Continuous Flashing of Air Bag Indicator

NORMAL OPERATION
Each primary crash sensor has three wires. Two of the wires are used for air bag deployment and monitoring the sensor's connection to the air bag diagnostic monitor. The other wire is used for monitoring the mounting (ground) of the primary crash sensor to sheet metal. If diagnosis reveals that BOTH primary crash sensors are not connected AND the primary sensors are not properly grounded, the air bag diagnostic monitor will flash the air bag indicator continuously at a fast rate.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
All the primary crash sensors are disconnected from the wiring harness or the main wiring harness is not connected with the engine compartment wiring harness.

Refer to DTCs 41, 42, 44 and 45 diagnosis.
