Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the battery ground cable.

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected or reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.





2. Remove the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor.
1 Disconnect the wire harness from the sensor.
2 Remove the sensor from the air cleaner outlet tube.

3. Inspect the IAT sensor O-ring for damage or deterioration. Replace as necessary.

INSTALLATION
Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
