Safing Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Wait for one minute for the backup power supply energy to be depleted.






2. Remove the LH cowl side trim panel.






3. Move the insulating panel out of the way.






4. Remove the screw and move the wiring track out of the way.






5. Remove the safing rear air bag sensor and bracket.
1 Disconnect the safing sensor electrical connector.
2 Remove the screws.
3 Remove the safing rear air bag sensor and bracket.


INSTALLATION






1. Install the safing rear air bag sensor and bracket.
1 Position the safing rear air bag sensor and bracket.
2 Install the screws.
3 Connect the safing sensor electrical connector.






2. Install the wiring track and the screw.






3. Install the insulating panel.






4. Install the LH cowl side trim panel.
5. Connect the battery ground cable.
6. Prove out the air bag system.
