Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative and positive battery cables.







2. Remove the screws and detach the LH instrument panel insulator.







3. Disconnect the lamp and remove the instrument panel insulator.







4. Remove the instrument panel steering column cover.
- Remove the screws.
- Remove the instrument panel steering column cover.







5. Depress the ignition switch lock cylinder tab and pull out the ignition switch lock cylinder.

NOTE: The tab is located between the sensor end and an ignition switch cylinder bracket.







6. Remove the ignition switch bezel.
7. Disconnect the connector.







8. Disconnect the ignition/shifter interlock cable.
1 Press the tab.
2 Release the ignition/shifter interlock cable from the pawl.







9. Remove the screws and the ignition switch.

INSTALLATION
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
