Door Sensor/Switch (For Alarm): Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove trim panel and position the watershield away from the access holes.
2. Disconnect the door lock cylinder from the front door latch control cylinder rod.
3. Remove the door lock cylinder retainer and remove the door lock cylinder from the front door. Disconnect electrical connector from door lock cylinder switch.
4. Before disassembly of the door lock cylinder switch from the door lock cylinder, mark the position of the front door latch operating lever and door lock cylinder switch as shown. The door lock cylinder switch can be installed in more than one position on the door lock cylinder. If not correctly positioned, the door lock cylinder switch will not function properly. If replacing the door lock cylinder switch, mark new door lock cylinder switch exactly as old door lock cylinder switch.







5. Remove E-clip from door lock cylinder.







6. Remove front door latch operating lever and door lock cylinder switch from door lock cylinder.







INSTALLATION
1. Install door lock cylinder switch, front door latch operating lever and E-clip to door lock cylinder.

NOTE: When installing a new door lock cylinder switch, make sure it is indexed correctly as shown in the following illustration BEFORE installing on the door lock cylinder.







2. Install door lock cylinder to vehicle with door lock cylinder switch oriented as shown reversing Removal procedure. Verify door lock cylinder switch operation.
