Aerodynamic Headlamps

The headlamp system consists of:
^ Two aerodynamic headlamps with replaceable halogen bulbs.
^ A multi-position headlamp switch.
^ Headlamp dimmer switch (part of multi-function switch).
^ Lighting control module.
^ Circuit wiring and circuit protection.

Power is supplied to the headlamps through lighting control module Circuit 502 (GY) and circuit protection Fuse 6 (10 A) in the fuse junction panel. Ground is provided to the headlamp bulb and retainer through Circuit 57 (BK).

Rotating the headlamp switch to the full clockwise position provides a signal to the lighting control module which provides power to the headlamp dimmer switch in the multi-function switch.
^ With the headlamp dimmer switch in the neutral position, power is supplied to the low-beam elements.
^ With the headlamp dimmer switch in the high beam position (forward detent), power is supplied to the high beam elements and to the high beam indicator in the instrument cluster.
^ Momentarily pulling the headlamp dimmer switch toward the steering wheel closes the flash-to-pass switch and the high-beam headlamps light. They will remain lit until the headlamp dimmer switch is released.
