Wheels: Description and Operation

Wheels must be replaced under any of the following conditions:
Bent, dented or heavily rusted
Have air leaks (aluminum wheels can, in most cases, be serviced using the procedure under Cleaning and Inspection)
Have elongated bolt holes
Have excessive lateral or radial runout. Wheels with a lateral or radial runout greater than the recommended specification may cause an objectionable, high-speed vehicle vibration.

Replacement wheels must be equal to the original equipment wheels in all of the following parameters:
^ Load capacity
^ Diameter
^ Width
^ Offset and mounting configuration

An improper wheel may affect the following:
^ Bearing life
^ Ground and tire clearance
Speedometer and odometer calibrations
