Inspection and Verification (Start Here)

1. Verify customer concern by operating the passive restraint system.

2. Visually inspect the components of the system:

Mechanical
- Inspect safety belt webbing for integrity.

Electrical
- Burned out fuse
- Bare, damaged or disconnected wire.
- Connector not tightly engaged.
- Safety belt warning indicator lamp burned out or damaged.

3. If the inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, service as required.

4. If the concern remains after the inspection, determine the condition and go to Symptom Chart.
