Wiper Pivot: Service and Repair

REMOVAL







1. Raise the windshield wiper blade end of the windshield wiper arm off the windshield glass.

NOTE: To prevent glass and paint damage, do not pry windshield wiper arm from pivot shaft with metal or sharp tool.

2. Move the slide latch away from the windshield wiper pivot arm and slowly lower the arm onto the latch. This will unlock the windshield wiper pivot arm from the pivot shaft and hold the windshield wiper blade end of the windshield wiper pivot arm off the glass.







3. Pull windshield wiper pivot arm off the pivot shaft without the aid of any tools.

INSTALLATION
1. Align the keyway on the pivot shaft with the windshield wiper pivot arm.
2. Push windshield wiper pivot arm onto pivot shaft. Make sure the pivot shafts are in PARK position.
3. While applying downward pressure on the windshield wiper pivot arm head to verify full seating, raise the other end of the windshield wiper pivot arm sufficiently to allow the latch to slide under windshield wiper pivot arm to the latched position. Use finger pressure only to slide latch.
4. Lower the windshield wiper blade to the windshield. If the windshield wiper blade does not touch the windshield, the slide latch is not completely in place.
