1. If a programmed key is available, enter NGS: PATS, ACTIVE COMMAND modes.
NOTE:
- This procedure is used if all previously programmed keys have been lost or the customer wants the previously programmed keys erased.
- The Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) allows programming of only one key before the vehicle will start if the ignition lock cylinder assembly is replaced.
2. Select the Steering Column/Ignition/Lighting (SCIL) module active command Keycode Erase Time Set. Set minutes to eight.
NOTE: It will take eight minutes to erase the programmed codes.
3. Select the SCIL module function tests. Trigger ignition key code ERASE ON. The key codes will be erased in eight minutes.
NOTE: The SCIL module must remain in the diagnostic mode for the entire eight minutes after the ERASE signal is sent or the key codes will be retained. Monitoring of the erasure can be done with the PID NUM KEYS of the programmed keys after eight minutes.
4. Place a new encoded key in the ignition. Turn the ignition switch to RUN.
