Seats: Description and Operation











SEATS-FRONT
The front seat is available in four styles:
- base.
- base with heat.
- luxury (perforated leather covers).
- luxury with heat.

The eight-way power seats have the following features:
- horizontal, vertical and front and rear tilt adjustments.
- lumbar support.
- power recline.
- autoglide.
- heat (if equipped).
- front seat back head restraint.

The LH front seat is also programmable to two different driver positions and has an easy in/easy out feature.

SEATS-EIGHT-WAY POWER
The eight-way power seat has the following features.
- forward and rearward adjustment.
- height adjustment.
- tilt adjustment.
- recliner adjustment.

Adjustment of the seat may be accomplished with the seat regulator control switch on the outboard side of the seat or with the control panel on the door.

SEATS-LUMBAR SUPPORT
The seat is provided with an electro-mechanical front seat back pad adjuster. During the forward adjust mode, the front seat back pad adjuster compresses and flexes forward providing lumbar support.

SEATS-HEATED SEAT
Each heated front seat is controlled by the heated seat switches on the instrument panel below the radio. The heated seat system:
- will only operate with the ignition switch in RUN.
- will maintain a temperature automatically once it is selected.

To operate:
- Select mode:
^ BOTH, to heat the seat back and seat cushion.
^ BACK, to heat the seat back only.
- Rotate the thumbwheel from 0 to 1 (the lowest heat level). Allow five minutes for heat level to stabilize.
- If the heat level is not high enough for comfort, select increased heat levels 2 through 5 and allow at least two minutes for the heat level to stabilize at any newly selected level.
- If the heated seat switch in not turned off (0 on thumbwheel), the seat will heat to the selected temperature each time the ignition switch is turned to RUN.

SEATS-AUTO GLIDE
Both LH and RH front seats are equipped with the auto-glide function to allow easy entry into the rear seat.
- The auto-glide function automatically moves the seat forward or rearward when the seat back is manually tilted forward to its forward stop position or rearward to its upright position.
- The seat will stop moving if the seat back is moved to its upright position while the seat is moving forward.
- The seat will resume travel if the seat back is returned to its stop position.
- The seat will stop immediately if the transmission range selector lever is shifted from NEUTRAL or PARK while the seat is moving.

Auto-glide operates as follows:
- When the ignition switch is OFF:
^ the driver seat auto-glide will only function when the transmission range selector lever is in NEUTRAL or PARK, and at least one of the vehicle front doors is open.
^ the passenger seat auto-glide will only function when the ignition switch is in RUN or ACC and at least one of the vehicle front doors is open.

SEATS-EASY ACCESS EASY OUT
The easy in/easy out feature of the driver seat moves the seat two inches back when:
- the ignition key is removed.

The easy in/easy out feature of the driver seat moves the seat two inches forward when:
- the ignition switch is turned to RUN.
- the driver door is opened, then closed.

SEATS-PROGRAMMABLE SEAT
The memory seat system allows automatic positioning of the driver seat to two programmable positions using the memory switch located on the driver front door trim panel, the key fob or the keypad on the door.
- To program position one, press button 1, then move the driver seat to the desired position using the manual controls. Two seconds after moving the seat, a message appears on the message center "SAVED TO DRIVER 1".
- To program position two, repeat the previous procedure using button 2.
- To recall position one, press button 1.
- To recall position two, press button 2.
- A position can only be recalled when the transmission range selector is in PARK or NEUTRAL.
- If the memory has been lost due to power being removed from the vehicle, the memory positions will be updated when the ignition switch is first turned to RUN. These positions are stored in the driver seat module.
- If the sensors on the seat track are not connected, the memory or manual system will not work.

SEATS-POWER RECLINER
The power recliner is incorporated into the inertia front seat back latch.

The power recliner tilts the seat back backward or forward and is controlled by the power seat regulator control knob located on the side of the seat.

The power recliner cannot be repaired separately. If the power recliner needs to be repaired, the entire front seat back latch must be replaced.
