Instrument Cluster - Finish Panel
REMOVAL1. Move the steering column to the full out and down position.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Remove the screws and the lower instrument panel steering column cover.
4. Disconnect the steering column electrical connectors.
5. Lower the steering column onto the instrument panel reinforcing bar.
1 Remove the nuts.
2 Lower the steering column onto the instrument panel reinforcing bar.
6. Remove the upper instrument panel steering column cover.
1 Remove the two screws.
2 Remove the upper instrument panel steering column cover.
7. Remove the headlamp switch knob and shaft.
- Grasp the headlamp switch knob firmly and pull rearward to remove.
CAUTION: Use care when removing the headlamp switch knob to avoid damaging the knob or the finish panel.
8. Remove the LH instrument panel finish panel.
- Pull the instrument panel finish panel rearward in vehicle to disengage the clips.
9. Remove the instrument panel dimmer switch.
1 Release the clips.
2 Remove the instrument panel dimmer switch.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
10. Remove the instrument panel cluster finish panel screws.
11. Remove the instrument panel cluster finish panel.
1 Position the instrument panel cluster finish panel forward.
2 Disconnect the electrical connector.
3 Remove the instrument panel cluster finish panel.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
- When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy.
- Install the outboard steering column cover screw before installing the inboard steering column cover screw.
