Compressor Fitting HVAC: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Remove the radiator upper sight shield.
2. Perform the Refrigerant Discharging and Recovery Procedure.
3. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.
4. Remove the radiator air deflector.
- Remove the pin-type retainers.
- Remove the screws and remove the radiator air deflector.
5. Disconnect the evaporator to compressor suction line and the compressor to condenser discharge line spring lock couplings from the A/C manifold and tube.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector.
7. Loosen the bolt and remove the A/C manifold and tube.
8. Remove the pressure transducer.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of PAG compressor oil, YN-12c, F7AZ-19589-DA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B. Refrigerant Oil Addition
- Lubricate the O-ring seal with PAG compressor oil, YN-12c, F7AZ-19589-DA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.
- Apply Pipe Sealant with Teflon(R) D8AZ-19554-A or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSK-M20350-A2 to the threads of the A/C manifold retaining bolt.
