Headlamp: Service and Repair

REMOVAL







1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.







2. Pull off the upper radiator sight shield.







3. Raise the headlamp assembly retainers by pushing rearward and pulling up at the same time.







4. Disconnect the headlamp assembly wiring harness.







5. Remove the headlamp assembly.


INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE:
^ Be sure the headlamp assembly is positioned correctly with the alignment pins inserted into the proper holes and onto the ribs of the reinforcement.
^ Be sure the headlamp wiring harness does not get caught between the headlamp and grille opening reinforcement. If it does, pull on the harness to free.
^ Make sure the upper radiator sight shield tabs are properly seated under the grille moulding prior to installation.
^ When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16km (10mi) or more to relearn the strategy.
