Coolant Line/Hose: Service and Repair

Bypass Tube Removal and Installation
1. Drain the engine cooling system.





2. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the water bypass tube.





3. Disconnect the generator wiring harness positioning clip.





4. Remove the bolts and the nuts attaching the generator mounting bracket.





5. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector.





6. Remove the nuts and remove the bypass tube.
^ Clean the sealing surfaces, and lubricate new O-ring seals with a non-petroleum based lubricant. Install new O-ring seals.
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
