JACKING

WARNING:
^ ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIR SUSPENSION, THE ELECTRICAL POWER SUPPLY TO THE AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM MUST BE SHUT OFF PRIOR TO HOISTING THE VEHICLE. THIS CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED BY DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY OR TURNING OFF THE AIR SUSPENSION SERVICE SWITCH LOCATED IN THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT ON THE LII SIDE. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN UNEXPECTED INFLATION OR DEFLATION OF THE AIR SPRINGS WHICH MAY RESULT IN SHIFTING OF THE VEHICLE DURING THESE OPERATIONS.
^ NEVER RUN THE ENGINE WITH ONE WHEEL OFF THE GROUND, SUCH AS WHEN CHANGING A TIRE. THE WHEEL STILL ON THE GROUND COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO MOVE.

CAUTION:
^ The jack provided with the vehicle is intended to be used in an emergency for changing a deflated tire. To avoid damage to the vehicle, never use the jack to hoist the vehicle for any other purpose. Refer to the Owner Guide when using the jack supplied with the vehicle.
^ Under no circumstances should the vehicle ever be lifted by the front or rear control arms, halfshafts or front wheel constant velocity (CV) joints. Severe damage to the vehicle could result.
^ Do not attempt to use jack pressure on either the front bumper or the rear bumper of any vehicle. Damage to the bumper covers will occur.

Lift the vehicle using the Jacking Points procedure.

Jacking Points

Push the air suspension service switch to the OFF position.

To lift the front or either side of the front end, position the floor jack or the hoist under the front frame lift points.

To lift the rear or either side of the rear end, position the floor jack or the hoist under the pinch point notches.

LIFTING

WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIR SUSPENSION, THE ELECTRICAL POWER SUPPLY TO THE AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM MUST BE SHUT OFF PRIOR TO HOISTING THE VEHICLE. THIS CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED BY DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY OR TURNING OFF THE AIR SUSPENSION SERVICE SWITCH LOCATED IN THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT ON THE LH SIDE. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN UNEXPECTED INFLATION OR DEFLATION OF THE AIR SPRINGS WHICH MAY RESULT IN SHIFTING OF THE VEHICLE DURING THESE OPERATIONS.

CAUTION
^ Do not allow the hoist adapters to contact the front wheel drive shaft joints, steering linkage, suspension arms, stabilizer bar, or compress the stabilizer bar link insulators. Damage to the suspension, exhaust and steering linkage components may occur if care is not exercised when positioning the hoist adapters of two-post lifts prior to lifting the vehicle.
^ Do not attempt to use jack pressure on either the front bumper or the rear bumper of any vehicle. Damage to bumper covers will occur.

Lift the vehicle using the appropriate Lifting Points procedure.

Lifting Points-Drive-On Lift

CAUTION: To prevent possible damage to the underbody, do not drive the vehicle onto the drive-on lift without first checking for possible interference.

Check for interference between the upright flanges of the hoist rails and the underbody.

If an interference exists, modify the hoist flanges or build up the approach ramps as necessary to provide clearance.

Lifting Points-Frame Contact Lift

WARNING: WHEN HOISTING AT THE LIFT POINTS, ESPECIALLY THE FRONT FRAME LIFT POINTS, BE CAREFUL NOT TO CONTACT THE BRAKE LINES OR THE FUEL LINES.

CAUTION: All four frame contact points must contact the adapters.

NOTE: On frame contact lifts, adapters are necessary to lift the vehicle. Use special hoist adapters if recommended by the specific hoist manufacturer.

Push the air suspension service switch to the OFF position.

Position the adapters under the front and rear frame lift points.

Check for sufficient clearance between the lift and the exhaust system components.

Lifting Points-Single-Post Lift, Two-Post Lift

CAUTION: Under no circumstances should the vehicle be lifted by the front control arms or rear control arms, halfshafts or front wheel Constant Velocity (CV) joints. Severe damage to the vehicle could result.

NOTE: Make sure clearance exists between the lift and the vehicle components before raising the lift.

Push the air suspension service switch to the OFF position.

Lift the vehicle at the applicable lift points.
