Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Verify the customer concern by operating the electronic audio system with the engine running and the vehicle in and out of motion.

NOTE: The Audio Control Module (ACM) is also referred to as the audio unit.

2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.

3. If the fault is not visually evident, proceed to diagnose the ACM by:
^ entering the New Generation STAR Tester Diagnostics. With Manufacturer's Scan Tool
^ entering ACM Self-Diagnostic Mode. Without Scan Tool
