Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery.
2. Remove the wiper motor. Refer to Wiper and Washer Systems.
3. Remove the harness bracket nut and stud from the rear of the LH cylinder head.
4. Remove the harness bracket nut and position the bracket away from the cylinder head.
5. Remove the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.
1 Disconnect the electrical connector.
2 Remove the bolt.
3 Remove the CMP sensor.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
CAUTION: Do not overtighten the screw or damage to the camshaft position sensor may occur.
NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.
